  • NEW WAVE

A waving trade blows through the design planet. Is it a need for flexibility, malleability or an abstract vision that leads designers to curve their creations? Whatever, we noticed that furniture, lighting, textiles and objects are adorned with curved shapes all over the planet and this is called the Wiggly Trend. Are the successive lockdowns the origin of open seas and swell among designers? This would explain the serpentine trend at the moment. In 2021, whatever the material used, the furniture curls, the candlesticks meander, the lampshades swirl, the textiles are printed with sinuous lines, the table linen scallops and the sculptures are waving. From France to Australia, the trend is worldwide as you can see below. This fashion is not new! Already in the forties, Jean Royère, preferred sinuous curves, the 70s saw all his creation bend and the Sottsass years arched, not to mention Alvar Aalto whose own name means "wave" in Finnish, form that he used to mark and sign his creations. table lamp © zara home & rug salemo © pieces x home union magazine rack curva © aytm / soap dish © fazeek making wave fabric © kravett / wave sofa © lina design collection wave © uchronica casa / lamp lucha © fisch cover pic © uchronica casa

The Franco-Chilean couple mainly offers designer pieces from the 20th century that they sell on their Instagram account. Choice pieces that stimulate our pupils. In their "previous" life, Justine was a graphic designer in Paris and César was an SEO analyst in Santiago de Chile. A friend introduced them to design and the weariness of their respective work being felt, they decided to devote themselves fully to this budding passion. They then left the city and settled in a small village in Auvergne, a few kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand, where they created their online store on Instagram. Their account is full of signed vintage nuggets as well as a few original handcrafted pieces. • PROJEKTITYYNY

Partisans of patchwork since the first hour. the Finnish brand Prokjektityyny - which literally means "cushion project" in Finnish - is one of our favorite brands in this area. We love their dreamlike spirit which charmingly dresses country houses and brings a retro-romantic touch to children's bedrooms. Nora Wilson, Projektityyny's founder must draw her creativity from the textile archives of American pioneers and ancient children's books. Its collections of household linen oscillate between Alice in Wonderland, Miss Petticoat's cottage and the Little House in the Prairie which plunge us into a joyful and cocooning world. Its range of plaids, cushions, tablecloths, lampshades and pajamas invite you to curl up in well-furnished beds and sofas. From her cottage in the English countryside, the textile designer designs original quality collections and has worked in a fair, sustainable and responsible manner with the same Indian weaver since the start of the project. Her fabrics are woven on a hand loom which gives them a unique quality and the colors are obtained from the designer's own palette. > www.projektityyny.com Retail in France chez Alluriel, 50 rue Sedaine, 75011 Paris L’amour Fou, 3 rue Sedaine, 75011 Paris

  • DRY BRUSHING

Simple and quick technique, dry brushing is the beauty routine to adopt every morning. Across the Atlantic, it is all the rage! Simple and effective, it provides many virtues for little effort. Discover the technique, its benefits and our selection of natural brushes. As its name suggests, dry brushing consists of brushing the body dry with a brush made of natural bristles. This technique stimulates blood circulation and above all, the lymphatic system to drain and evacuate toxins. As a reminder, the lymph is an organic liquid which surrounds the cells and which is transported by a network of vessels called the lymphatic system. Its role is to clean the body of infectious agents and to trigger the reaction of the immune system if necessary. However, the lymphatic circulation is much slower than that of the blood since it depends on our muscular movements and breathing. The more dynamic the lymphatic circulation, the more effective its cleansing action, and the better our health! Daily brushing therefore stimulates the circulation of the lymph. Also, the skin regenerates every 24 hours and dry brushing the skin in the morning helps to remove the dead skin cells eliminated at night. The technique If possible, do it in the morning and before the shower, proceed with small energetic circular massages, always going in the direction of the heart. Start with the feet and go up along the legs and calves then from the thighs to the buttocks. Then, massage from the hands to the shoulders, from the lower abdomen to the chest and finally from the neck to the heart. The bravest can massage the face more delicately or with a small softer brush and those who have a brush with a long handle can massage the back. The benefits For little effort, daily brushing offers many benefits. Its exfoliating action provides the same benefits as exfoliation and peeling: Softens the skin Eliminates dead skin Stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation Fight against cellulite Reduces orange peel Boosts the immune system Our Selection Small brushes are easier to handle while brushes with long handles make back brushing ore simple.
